COCO - CLOUD 1st International Workshop

Coco-Cloud is also organizing 1st International Workshop on TEchnical and LEgal aspects of data pRIvacy and Security, TELERISE, to be held in Florence on May 18th. TREsPASS has issued a call for The Second International Workshop on Graphical Models for Security

July 13th 2015 Verona, Italy. Graphical security models provide an intuitive but systematic methodology to analyze security weaknesses of systems and to evaluate potential protection measures. Formal methods and computer security researchers, as well as security professionals from industry and government, have proposed various graphical security modeling schemes. TREsPASS hosts New Security Paradigms Workshop (NSPW), Twente, Netherlands.

September 8th - 11th 2015. The New Security Paradigms Workshop (NSPW) is an annual, small invitation-only workshop for researchers in information security and related disciplines. NSPW's focus is on work that challenges the dominant approaches and perspectives in computer security.

FutureID project is co-organising the Open Identiy Summit 2015

The FutureID project ist co-organizing the Open Identiy Summit 2015 which will be co-located with ISSE 2015. It will take place on November 10th-11th 2015 in Berlin (Germany). The deadline for submission of extended abstracts or full papers is May 29th, 2015.

Project News


TREsPASS Project News

TREsPASS has published a summary of the achievements of the first two years in the fields of attack navigation, model checking, risk visualizations and attacker and victim profiles. Recent publications describe how the TREsPASS process works. After identifying attack scenarios based on policies in the target system, one can perform time-dependent analysis of those scenarios, evaluate them for differently skilled attackers, and finally visualise risk.

TREsPASS Social Engineering Award

Demetris Antoniou received the TREsPASS Social Engineering Award during the CPDP conference, in recognition of an original, feasible and extremely threatening scenario proposal.

Socio-technical security metrics

A successful Dagstuhl Seminar on Socio-Technical Security Metrics was organised by Wolter Pieters and Dieter Gollmann in cooperation with external experts. The seminar report will be published soon.


ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 27 thanked TREsPASS for our contribution to the revision of ISO/IEC 27005 "Information Security Risk Management".

The PANOPTESEC project presents progress to the External Advisory Board

The PANOPTESEC project, aiming to deliver a beyond-state-of-the-art prototype that will proactively and reactively automatically manage cyber incidents, presented the state of the research and design at a meeting of their External Advisory Board (EAB) on 18 November 2014.

The FP7 HINT project

The FP7 HINT project is continuously engaged in dissemination activities. For example, the project will be presented at the Trudevice Workshop co-located with DATE 2015 on 13th March in Grenoble. Furthermore, in order to create synergies and exchange relevant information, a liason meeting with the consortium of the FP7 MATTHEW project is planned.

The EURO-MILS project

The EURO-MILS project (GA No. 318353) works on providing trustworthiness by design and high assurance for cyber-physical networks of embedded systems, including strong guarantees on resource isolation by means of security certification (Common Criteria-based).

PRACTICE is a key enabler for new business processes in Cloud Computing and introduces computation technologies that keep the used data secure. The PRACTICE project aims a secure cloud framework that allows for the realization of advanced and practical cryptographic technologies

Autumn 2015 will see a summer school on trustworthy infrastructures and cloud computing including research and industrial orientated workshops at the Technical University of Darmstadt is planned. Click here



The FP7 MATTHEW project consortium publishes interim project results continously through various dissemination activities. For example, the project will be presented at the CSP Innovation Forum on 28-29th April 2015 in Brussels.

A project Kick-off meeting took place on 12th March 2015 in Grenoble, where very effective work package kick-offs were planned to be executed. The HECTOR project will also be represented at both events, the DATE 2015 - Design, Automation & Test in Europe, and the Cyber Security & Privacy Innovation Forum in April in Brussels. Various dissemination activities are prospectivley planned, but due to the recent project start not yet exactly determined. For more information Click here


Green Paper on Cloud Security

The CIRRUS Green Paper aims to take stock of discussion and debate on three fundamental pillars in cloud security as identified by the CIRRUS project, namely standardisation, certification, and international cooperation.

Dr. Gulshan Rai appointed Cyber Security Chief for the Prime Minister of India

Dr. Gulshan Rai, of the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) of the Gov’t of India, has been appointed the special secretary in the Prime Minister’s office of India, in charge of Cyber Security. In this role, Dr. Rai becomes the first chief of Cyber Security in India.

Annual Privacy Forum

The European Commission Directorate General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG CONNECT), the European Union Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA) and, as local host, the University of Luxemburg organize a two-day event with the objective of providing a forum to academia, industry and policy makers. This year, the main focus of the Annual Privacy Forum will be on the privacy of electronic communications.

APF will take place on the 7th and 8th of October 2015 in Luxembourg, during the Luxembourgian Presidency of the Council of the EU. For more information Click here

Digital Enlightenment Forum 2015 took place 25th – 26th March, Kilkenny, Ireland

The conference theme follows on from the papers collected in the Digital Enlightenment Yearbook 2014, in which the issue of how individuals relate to their networks and wider society in a data-driven world, was explored from a range of disciplinary perspectives, including computer science, law, history, information management, information security, sociology and statistics.

EU28 ENISA Cloud security conference

ENISA is co-organising together with the Latvian Ministry of Defence a one day conference focused on Cloud Security. The Cloud Security Conference aims to be an educational and networking event on cloud computing security and privacy, under the umbrella of the Latvian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The event will be hosted in Riga, Latvia on the 16th of June at the Swedbank building (Balasta dambis 1A, Riga, Latvia).
